Intellectual Property for Communications Professionals – A Common Sense Approach
Do you have questions about copyrights, trademarks and fair use? This presentation will explain the most common intellectual property issues (under United States law) that a communications professional will likely encounter. The ideal audience will consist of those with limited background in, and/or understanding of, intellectual property laws and how those laws may apply to their profession.
Bridget Colbert joined Santa Clara University as Assistant General Counsel in 2011. Prior to joining the University, Bridget practiced trusts and estates litigation in San Jose. Bridget supports the General Counsel through contract review and drafting, policy development, legal research, litigation support, review of government regulations, providing guidance on issues involving students, responding to government investigations and inquiries, and communications with various schools and departments. Bridget received her Bachelors in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University and her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. Bridget is a member of the State Bar of California, the Santa Clara County Bar Association, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys. Bridget lives in San Jose with her husband and two sons.
