Living As A Eucharistic Missionary

Bring your middle school and high school youth (rising sixth to rising 12th-graders) to the Teen Track at the Eucharistic Congress (EC)! Join us for fellowship and prayer at the new Gateway Center Arena (where the G League Skyhawks play). This track will feature the wisdom and wit of Michael (Gomer) Gormley and the creative and faith-filled music of EPIC the Band! The track will encourage teens to be Eucharistic missionaries where they are and will culminate in a special time with our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration.

REGISTRATION IS BY GROUP ONLY.  THERE WILL BE NO INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATIONS.

PLEASE HAVE EACH OF YOUR CHAPERONES REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY AS A VOLUNTEER HERE BEFORE REGISTERING YOUR GROUP.

If you are an individual and would like to go to the Teen Track but your parish is not sending a group, please contact a neighboring parish or contact Elaine Phillips ephillips@archatl.com and she will help you find a group to go with.

Đại Hội Thánh Thể là cơ hội quý báu để các tín hữu học hỏi và cầu nguyện nhằm gia tăng lòng yêu mến đối với Chúa Giêsu, và sự hiện diện thực sự của Ngài nơi Bích Tích Thánh Thể. Sự kiện đặc biệt này quy tụ hàng ngàn người đến cử hành món quà vô cùng cao trọng của Chúa Giêsu đã ban tặng cho nhân loại như lời Ngài đã hứa “Thày sẽ ở cùng các con mọi ngày cho đến tận thế.”  Chương trình Đại Hội Thánh Thể được thực hiện bằng các ngôn ngữ khác nhau, trong đó có tiếng Việt để mọi người có thể tham dự trọn vẹn khi nghe các diễn giả trình bày bằng ngôn ngữ của riêng mình.

Esta sesión, junto con todas las demás de nuestro Congreso Eucarístico, tiene el propósito de crear una conexión más profunda con Jesús y su Presencia Real en la Eucaristía. Este evento es una reunión de miles de creyentes que celebra el enorme regalo de Jesucristo presente para nosotros como prometió que lo sería, “Hasta el fin de los tiempos”. Algunas sesiones, como esta, están configuradas para ser específicas a un idioma en particular, de modo que la diversa población de nuestra Iglesia local tenga acceso completo, en su idioma natal, a los oradores que están invitados a participar.

Schedule | ASL Track

Deaf Catholics in the Archdiocese of Atlanta gather once a year to learn, discern and celebrate the Eucharist with a deaf or signing priest. An assisted listening device (ALD) is available so that family and friends can join the conversation.

  • Reconciliation in American Sign Language (ASL) is available at the end of the session.
  • ASL services will be provided at the opening and closing Mass with the help of several dedicated volunteer interpreters.
  • The Atlanta deaf Catholic community invites you to continue the Congress and join us for deaf Mass on Sunday, June 19, 2022.

SCHEDULE

The Family Track is a 1-hour session. Starting at these times:

  • 10:00 am
  • 10:45 am
  • 1:30 pm
  • 2:15 pm

Each session will include rotating stations of the following:

  • A talk with Greg and Lisa
  • A show with professional puppeteers
  • Adoration for families with inspiring music
  • Activities – Super fun activities for the entire family

 

Deacon Peter Swan

Peter Swan was born in Rangoon, Burma in April 1950 to Joe and Colleen Swan. He is married to the former Pansy Nyunt of Tatmye-Rangoon, Burma, and they have two sons, Peter Jr. and Christopher.

Swan migrated to the United States in April of 1971 and joined the United States Army the same year. He retired from the United States Army in August of 1991 at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, and was immediately employed by the United States federal government as a civilian member of the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps, where he served for the next 22 years as a geospatial information services and production officer, until his retirement in March of 2013.

A resident of Jonesboro, he was ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Archdiocese of Atlanta in 2001 by Archbishop John F. Donoghue. He serves as pastoral assistant at St. Philip Benizi Church, Jonesboro, and is also assigned to the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA.

A Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Deacon Swan is the former president of the National Conference of Burmese-American Catholics and served as a national advisor on Burmese Catholic ministry to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). He currently serves as the vice-chair of the Burmese-American Catholics for Peace and Justice.

 

 

Deacon Martin Mana Ling

A native of Chin State, Myanmar, Deacon Martin Mana Ling entered Assumption Seminary after high school. He studied English there for four years. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2013 and entered St. Joseph’s Major Seminary the following year, completing two years of philosophical studies.

After studies at Michael’s Major Catholic Seminary, he was invited by Bishop Lucius Hre Kung and Bishop William Medley, Bishop of Owensboro, Kentucky, to become a seminarian for the diocese. In May 2021, he graduated from St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology with a Master of Divinity degree. He will be ordained a priest on July 2.

Join us Friday night at the Eucharistic Congress for Revive (Young Adult Track) in the new Gateway Center Arena. Along with music from Epic the Band, Michael “Gomer” Gormley, national speaker and co-host of the Catching Foxes podcast, will share his wisdom, humor and Catholic perspective on how community can bring us back to Christ and support the call to be Eucharistic missionaries. After his talk, if you stick around, he’ll even share a beer.
