GRACE AT MEALS

Before Meals

THE poor will eat and will be filled, and those who seek the Lord will praise him their  souls  shall  live forever  and ever.

OUR Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name: thy kingdom come: thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread: and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil.

If present, a priest will add this blessing:

O CHRIST our God, bless the food and drink of thy servants, for ever holy art thou, now, and always, and forever and ever.
Amen.

If no priest is present, a layman will add:

THROUGH the prayers of our holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, have mercy on us. Amen.

After Meals

WE give thee thanks, O Christ our God, because thou hast filled us with thy earthly blessings; do not leave us in want of thy heavenly kingdom, but as thou didst come among thine Apostles, O Savior, granting them peace, so also come to us and save us. Amen.

GOD is with us, with his grace, and with his love of mankind, now, and always, and forever and ever.  Amen.
