Înainte de mâncare

MÂNCA-VOR săracii și se vor sătura, și vor lăuda pe Domnul cei ce-L caută pe dânsul, vii vor fi inimile lor în veacul veacului.

TATĂL nostru, carele ești în ceruri, sfințească-se numele tău; vina Împărăția ta; fie voia ta, precum în cer, așa și pe pământ. Pâinea noastră cea de toate zilele dă-ne-o nouă astăzi; și ne iartă nouă păcatele noastre, precum și noi iertăm greșiților noștri; și nu ne duce pe noi în ispită, ci ne mântuiește de cel rău.

Dacă de față este un preot, dă binecuvântarea următoare:

HRISTOASE Dumnezeule, binecuvântează  mâncarea și băutura robilor tăi, că sfânt ești totdeauna, acum, și pururea, și în vecii vecilor.

Amin.

Dacă nu este preot de față, zicem:

PENTRU rugăciunile sfinților Părinților noștri, Doamne Isuse Hristoase, Dumnezeul  nostru,  îndură-te  spre noi.

După mâncare

MULȚUMIM ție, Hristoase Dumnezeul nostru, că ne-ai săturat de bunătățile tale cele pământești; nu ne lăsa lipsiți nici de cereasca ta împărăție; ci precum ai venit în mijlocul Apostolilor tăi, Mântuitorule, pace dându-le  lor,  așa  vino și la noi și  ne mântuiește. Amin.

CU noi este Dumnezeu, cu al sau dar, și cu a sa iubire de oameni, totdeauna, acum, și pururea și în vecii vecilor.

Amin.

ZIUA petrecându-o mulțumesc ție, Doamne; seara, rogu-mă, împreună cu noaptea, fără păcat dăruiește-o mie, Mântuitorule, și mă mântuește.

Mărire Tatălui, și Fiului, și sfântului Spirit.

ZIUA  trecându-o, preamărescu-te pe tine, Stăpâne: seara, rogu-mă, împreună cu noaptea, fără sminteală dăruiește-o mie, Mântuitorule, și mă mântuiește.

Și  acum, și pururea, și în vecii vecilor.

Amin.

ZI UA săvârșind-o, cu cântare te laud pe tine, Sfinte; seara, rogu-mă, împreună cu noaptea, fără întindere de cursă dăruiește-o mie, Mântuitorule, și mă mântuiește.

CU Sfinții odihnește, Hristoase, sufletele robilor tăi, unde nu este durere, nici întristare, nici  suspinare, ci  viață fără de sfârșit.

ȘI ne dă nouă, Stăpâne, celor ce mergem spre somn, odihna trupului și a sufletului; și ne păzește pe noi de somnul cel întunecat al păcatului, și de toată patima cea   întunecată, și de noaptea plăcerilor.

Așază întărâtările patimilor, stinge săgețile celui rău, cele aprinse, cele pornite asupra noastră cu vicleșug; zburdările trupului le potolește, și tot gândul nostru cel pământesc și trupesc adoarme-l. Și ne dăruiește nouă, Dumnezeule, minte deșteaptă, gând curat, inima treaza, somn ușor și de toată nălucirea satanei netulburat. Scoală-ne pe noi în vremea rugăciunii, întăriți întru poruncile tale, și aducerea aminte de judecățile tale întru noi neîntreruptă avându-o. Cuvântare de preamărire toată noaptea nouă ne dăruiește, ca să lăudăm, și să bine­ cuvântăm, și să  preamărim preacinstitul și de mare cuviință numele tău, al Tatălui, și al Fiului, și al sfântului Spirit, acum, și pururea, și în vecii vecilor. Amin.

DUMNEZEUL părinților noștri, carele faci pururea cu noi după blândețile tale, nu depărta mila ta de la noi ci, pentru rugăciunile lor, în pace chivernisește viața noastră.

PENTRU rugăciunile tuturor Sfinților, și     ale   Născătoarei   de    Dumnezeu, Doamne, pacea ta dă-ne-o nouă, și ne miluiește pe noi, ca cel ce singur ești milostiv.

TATĂL nostru, carele ești în ceruri, sfințească-se numele tău; vină împărăția ta; fie voia ta, precum în cer, așa și pe pământ. NĂSCĂTOARE de Dumnezeu, Fecioară, bucură-te ceea ce ești plină de dar, Marie, Domnul este cu tine. Binecuvântată ești tu între femei și binecuvântat este rodul pântecelui tău, că ai născut pe Hristos, Mântuitorul sufletelor noastre. Preasfântă Marie, Maica lui Dumnezeu, roagă-te pentru noi acum și în ora morții noastre.

SCULÂNDU-NE din somn la tine cădem,  Bunule, și cântarea îngerească o strigăm ție,  Puternice:  Sfânt, Sfânt, Sfânt ești, Dumnezeule; pentru Născătoarea de

Dumnezeu îndură-te spre noi.

Mărire Tatălui, și Fiului, și sfântului Spirit.

DIN pat și din somn m-ai ridicat,

Doamne, mintea mea o luminează, și inima și buzele mele le deschide, ca să te laud pe tine, Sfântă Treime: Sfânt, Sfânt, Sfânt ești, Dumnezeule; pentru Născătoarea de Dumnezeu îndură-te spre noi.

Și  acum, și  pururea, și în vecii vecilor.

FĂRĂ de veste Judecătorul va veni, și ale fiecăruia fapte se vor descoperi; ci cu frică să strigăm în miezul nopții: Sfânt, Sfânt, Sfânt ești, Dumnezeule; pentru Născătoarea de Dumnezeu îndură-te spre noi.

Doamne, îndură-te spre noi.

DIN somn sculându-mă, mulțumesc ție, Sfântă Treime, că pentru multă bunătatea și îndelungă răbdarea ta nu  te-ai  mâniat pe mine leneșul și păcătosul, nici m-ai pierdut cu fărădelegile mele; ci ai  făcut iubire de oameni după obicei și intru deznădăjduire zăcând eu, m-ai ridicat, ca să mânec și să măresc puterea ta. Și acum luminează-mi ochii cugetului, deschide-mi gura, ca sa mă  deprind  în  cuvintele  tale, și să fac voia ta, și să-ți  cânt întru  mărturisirea inimii, și să laud  preasfânt  numele tău, al Tatălui, și al Fiului, și al sfântului Spirit, acum, și  pururea, și în vecii vecilor.    Amin.

HRISTOASE, lumina cea adevărată, care lu- minează și sfințește pe tot omul, ce vine in lume: să se însemneze peste noi lumina feței tale, ca într-însa să vedem lumina cea neapropiată; și îndreaptă pașii noștri spre lucrarea poruncilor tale, pentru rugăciunile preacuratei Maicii tale, și ale tuturor Sfinților tai.

MOST Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our transgressions; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for thy name’s sake.

I BELIEVE in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only ­ begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. Light of light; true God of true God; begotten, not made, of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men, and for our salvation, came down from Heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary: and was made man. He was crucified also for us, suffered under Pontius Pilate, and was buried. The third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead; of whose kingdom there shall be no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who together with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified; who spoke by the Prophets.

And in One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins.

I expect the Resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

MOST glorious, perpetual Virgin, blessed Mother of God, carry our prayer to thy Son, our God, and beseech Him, for thy sake, to save our souls.

ALL my hope I place in thee, O Mother of God: shelter me under thy loving care.

MY hope is the Father, my protection is the Son, my shelter is the Holy Spirit.

AND grant us, O Lord, who prepare for sleep, rest of body and soul; and protect us from the dark sleep of sin, and from every benighted passion, and from the murk of sinful pleasure. Quell the upheavals of concupiscence, quench the burning arrows of the evil one, cunningly aimed at us; quiet the turmoil of our bodies, and put to rest every worldly and carnal thought. And grant us, O God, a clear mind, purity of thought, a vigilant heart, peaceful sleep untroubled by the mockery of satan. Wake us at the time of prayer, strengthened in thy commandments, having ever before us the memory of thy judgment in our midst. Grant us a voice of glorification throughout the night, that we may praise, bless, and glorify thy most honored and worthy name, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now, and always, and forever and ever. Amen.

O GOD of our fathers, who workest thy mercies perpetually among us, do not remove thy mercy from us, but through their prayers direct our lives in peace.

THROUGH the prayers of all the Saints, and of the Mother of God, O Lord, grant us thy peace, and have mercy on us, as one who alone art merciful.

ARISING from sleep I give thee thanks, O Holy Trinity, for in thy great goodness and long suffering thou wert not angered with me, the slothful and sinful one, nor didst thou condemn me with my transgressions; but thou didst show thy love for man, as is thy way, and didst lift me out of my desperation, to rise and glorify thy power. Enlighten now the eyes of my mind, open my mouth, that I may engage in thy word, and do thy will, and sing to thee in the acknowledgment of my heart, and praise thy most holy name, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now, and always, and forever and ever. Amen.

O CHRIST, the true light, which enlightens and sanctifies all men who enter this world: let the light of thy glory be in­ scribed upon us, that through it we may see the unapproachable light; straighten our steps unto the fulfilment of thy commandments, through the prayers of thy most pure Mother, and of all thy Saints.
