Room 101

This workshop will examine the various virtues and vices associated with truth. Topics will include definitions of truthful speech, lying, deceiving, and associated virtues/vices (honesty, veracity, simplicity/ prevarication, dissimulation, dissembling, etc.); analysis of the wrongfulness of lying and the rightness of truthful speech; comparison of the analyses of these issues within the Catholic tradition with analyses provided by non-Catholic moralists, etc.

Dr. Mark Pestana teaches in the philosophy department of Grand Valley State University and has taught on this topic in ethics courses over the last 25 years.
