The Bible and the Church Fathers explores what the Bible teaches us about the Mass. It looks at the ultimate meaning of the Eucharistic sacrifice and how what happens at Mass relates to God’s covenant dealings with Israel. Through the Liturgy of the eucharist we offer ourselves back to God.

Starting with the Old Testament, The Bible and the Mass traces the lineage of sacrificial ritual to where Christ transforms ritual worship in the sacrifice of the New Covenant. You will see that what we do on earth is a participation in the liturgy of heaven. You will also see that in the Mass the Kingdom of God is made present. The study concludes by focusing on one of the deepest meanings of the Mass – the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
