My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

Welcome to our annual Steubenville Conferences at Franciscan University in the Diocese of Steubenville. The themes of each one of the Adult Conferences share many attributes including the fact that to be missionary disciples requires our active participation. In fact, as we live out our Christian lives, we are more holy, more joyful and more impassioned in our service to God and neighbor. Here we recognize that joy is more than an attitude – joy is being.

Our Holy Father Pope Francis is quite clear in his Apostolic Exhortation that joy and holiness are not mutually exclusive. True and lasting joy absolutely depends on one’s holiness. Our lives have been won by Christ as St. Paul indicates in his letter to the Philippians (3:12). In fact, Jesus has offered us an adventure which compels us to encounter Christ in the midst of God’s people.

At each celebration of the sacrifice of the Mass, never forget that you and I have been won over by Christ in the Eucharist, that we are further sustained and further in resolve to share the good news of Jesus Christ in and out of season.

With prayerful best wishes to you as in your shared encounter as brothers and sisters in Christ and entrusting you to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, patroness to the Diocese of Steubenville I am, Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Most Reverend Jeffrey M. Monforton
Bishop of Steubenville

What will I experience?
The Encounter MKE Steubenville Young Adult conference will facilitate an opportunity to encounter the love of Christ. There will be powerful talks and workshops given by nationally known Catholic speakers. These talks will be given in a TED-style talk and will be relevant to your life as a young adult. There will also be a worship band that will lead conference participants in prayer.

Have I experienced something like this before?
Probably not! The Steubenville Conferences have been nationally recognized for 40 years and have reached thousands of people. Even if you’ve attended Steubenville Youth Conferences in the past, Encounter MKE is different and relevant to your life as a young adult.

Visit steubenvilleconferences.org for more information.

Who will be there?
Young adults (high school graduates to 39 years old) from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa, and Ohio are registering for this conference, as well as other young adults from outside the Midwest! Some of them will be college-aged, others working professionals, and others will be young married couples (with young families).

What Should I wear?
Casual attire is acceptable

Where should I park?
The Cousins Center staff will direct parking for the day. Go directly to the venue and they will assist you.

I’ve registered. Should I have received an admission ticket?
After registering you should receive a confirmation email with a “ticket” in the message. Please bring a printed copy of the email or have it ready on your phone when you arrive on November 11. There will be registration tables for you to check in. Once you have checked in, you will receive a name badge, schedule, and other important information.

I’ve registered a group. Do you need everyone in the groups information?
Yes.  If you signed up a group you will receive an email in the near future asking for similar information (name, age, address, etc.) about each member of your group.

I’ve registered a group. How do we sign in at the conference?
When you arrive on November 11 there will be a registration table specifically for groups; come up to sign in the entire group.

The group leader will be given the name badges, schedules, and any other important information for the entire group.

What is included in the price?
Your registration includes conference attendance and dinner (lunch is not provided, but food trucks will be available).

Will I need to buy anything?
Lunch is not provided, so you will need money for food. There will be on-site options.

The Most Rev. Jeffrey M. Monforton

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

Welcome to our Annual Conferences
at Franciscan University in the Diocese of
Steubenville! Thank you for coming together
to celebrate our Lords’ presence among us,
thereby deepening our encounter with
Jesus Christ. You and I are reminded that
as we learn more about ourselves, the more
thoroughly we recognize Jesus Christ and how he has revealed his
Father to us.

As you and I live in a society which promotes at times the truth and
yet other times falsehood, we are reminded by our Holy Father, Pope
Francis, that true and lasting joy absolutely depends on one’s holiness.
I encourage you to live authentic lives grounded in the truth of Jesus
Christ and his invitation to our holiness.

May you have life in and through Jesus Christ these celebrated days
of the Youth Conference. With prayerful best wishes to you and your
families and entrusting you with the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
patroness of the Diocese of Steubenville, I am,
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Jeffrey M. Monforton
Bishop of Steubenville

From Christian Outreach

Welcome to Franciscan University of Steubenville! We are grateful for your
presence on our campus and overwhelmed by your faith and openness to God’s work in your lives.

If you served as an Ambassador or brought a friend who has never come
before, thank you. Your service and hard work is a beautiful witness to your
love for Christ and your desire to spread the faith. If you are here for the first time, thank you for taking a leap of faith and investing your time and treasure to be a part of a Steubenville Conference. We are excited to let you know that we have added two new components to our outreach that we believe could be game-changers for you on your
journey.

Steubenville Encounter: For years we have been asked by Adult Conference guests, “Why don’t you have a conference like your Youth Conferences for adults?” Well, now we do! The first Steubenville Encounter at Franciscan University will take place May 18-19, 2019.
Steubenville Discipleship Quads: We have created a pathway for growing as a disciple in a small faith community that is both simple and powerful to use.

To learn more about these new initiatives, visit steubenvilleconferences.com or look for the links in the myParish app. Over the next year, we will serve over 60,000 Catholic youth and adults at 33 conferences; we are happy that you are one of them!

Let the Lord love you
and bless you abundantly
