Papa Joe & The Family

Papa Joe and the family have been doing music in the Sacramento Diocese for over 10 years. It has been a family affair and a labor of love, love for music and love for Jesus. They strive to bring a youthful contemporary feel to the music all with an emphasis on being reverent and prayerful. From contemporary Catholic hymns to gospel, they try and bring a soulful flavor in all that they do. The members of the group include Papa Joe, Sheriden, Elias, Zavier and Selia. Supported by his wife Merlynne and eldest son Marselys. Not pictured is Ed and Maria Padrones who are an integral part of the church based ministry

H | Off the Hook: God, Love, Dating and Marriage in a Hookup World

Offered in Sessions:  3*

*Youth & Young Adult Oriented Session

DR. TIMOTHY O’MALLEY

Director of the Center for Liturgy for the University of Notre Dame.

Hookup culture is about much more than the quest for pleasure. It offers an easy way out of real communication and lasting relationships. It also teaches us to treat each other as objects for personal satisfaction. Even those who reject the hookup culture can still be negatively affected by it and develop poor habits of relating to others. Tim will help us discover how God’s plan for love serves to heal the wounds of hookup culture and is a medicine for what ails our understanding of sex, romance, love, and marriage.
