A convert to the faith, Father Sean Loomis attended public school until midway through college, when he transferred to Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio and earned a degree in philosophy in 2007.

That same year, Father Loomis entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, where he received a master of divinity and a master of arts in scriptural theology in 2013, the same year he was ordained to the priesthood.

Following his ordination, Father Loomis served for three years at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in Southampton, Pennsylvania. He now serves as a part-time parochial vicar at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Havertown, Pennsylvania as well as archdiocesan chaplain to the deaf apostolate.

Deacon Steve Swope was ordained to the permanent diaconate on Feb. 8, 2008, and is assigned to St. Mary Magdalene Church in Newnan.

He currently serves the Archdiocese of Atlanta as the chair of the Diaconate Scrutinies and Evaluation Committee and as a member of the Deacon Personnel Board. He is lead master of ceremonies at the Archdiocese of Atlanta Eucharistic Congress.

Deacon Swope formerly served as the associate director of formation for the permanent diaconate of the archdiocese and CEO of GWTW Partners, which has complete oversight of the use and intellectual property protection of Margaret Mitchell’s award-winning novel, “Gone With the Wind.”

He is a Catholic Relief Services (CRS) global fellow ambassador educator and has traveled with CRS overseas to witness the work being done by the American church on behalf of the poorest in the world. Most recently, Deacon Swope traveled to Greece and Serbia on behalf of CRS to engage with those working to alleviate the plight of refugees fleeing Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.

In addition, the deacon is a member of the National Association of Diaconate Directors and serves on the board for patrons of the Donald W. Nixon Centre for Performing & Visual Arts and Newnan-Coweta County Airport Authority. He and his wife, Marie, support Communities In Schools and serve as mentors/tutors each week at a Title I elementary school.

Before joining the Archdiocese of Atlanta, Deacon Swope’s business career was in the travel industry. He was one of the founders of The Rubicon Group, a company that provided critical business intelligence and pricing guidance to travel and hospitality industries. Deacon Swope served as the president and CEO of Rubicon from its inception until the sale of the company in early 2011.

Deacon Swope frequently speaks about topics that include the worldwide refugee crisis, permanent diaconate, travel industry, entrepreneurship and the development and operation of a successful company.

He enjoys travel and reading, as well as playing the banjo and golf, but not all at the same time. Deacon Swope and his wife live on a small farm outside of Newnan, where they raise chickens, grow vegetables and find time to relax. They have two adult children, Jennifer and Matthew. Jennifer resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband, Toby, and their two children, Eleanor and Henry. Matthew resides in Newnan and is an assistant district attorney in the Coweta Judicial Circuit.

El Reverendo Ángel Espinosa de los Monteros nació en Puebla (México) en 1966. Realizó sus estudios de filosofía en la Pontificia Universidad Gregoriana de Roma y de teología en el Ateneo Regina Apostolorum, donde obtuvo una licenciatura en teología moral, con especialización en bioética. Además posee una maestría en humanidades clásicas del Instituto de Estudios Humanísticos de Salamanca (España).

Publicó el libro, “El anillo es para siempre”, el cual ha sido traducido en varios idiomas. Ha impartido conferencias sobre el matrimonio y los valores familiares en México, Estados Unidos, Colombia, Chile, Italia y Francia. Sus charlas han tenido amplia difusión a través de su colección de CDs.

El Padre Ángel trabajó durante siete años como orientador familiar en Guadalajara. Adicionalmente,  fue director del Colegio Cumbres en Medellín, Colombia, colaboró en la formación de adultos en París, sirvió como orientador familiar en el Instituto Cumbres de México y ha impartido conferencias sobre matrimonio, valores familiares y espiritualidad en diferentes ciudades de Europa y América.

Actualmente trabaja en Roma como consultor familiar y en formación religiosa de adultos.


Reverend Ángel Espinosa de los Monteros was born in Puebla (Mexico) in 1966. He completed philosophy studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and theology studies at the Ateneo Regina Apostolorum, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in moral theology, specializing in bioethics. He holds a master’s degree in classical humanities from the Humanistic Studies Institute of Salamanca (Spain).

Rev. Ángel has presented conferences on marriage and family values in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Italy, France and the United States. He published the book, The Ring is Forever, which has been translated into several languages. His talks have been widely disseminated through CD collections.

For seven years, Rev. Ángel worked as a family counselor in Guadalajara, served as director of the Cumbres of Medellín in Colombia, collaborated in the formation of adults in Paris, served as a family counselor at Cumbres High School in Mexico and led conferences on marriage, family values and spirituality in Europe and America.

He currently works in Rome as a family consultant and with adult faith formation.

Jesse Romero posee una licenciatura en artes liberales del Colegio de Mount St. Mary en Los Ángeles, CA y una maestría en teología católica de la Universidad Franciscana en Steubenville, Ohio.

Después de redescubrir sus raíces católicas, Jesse estudió y oró a través de un recorrido que lo llevó de regreso a la práctica ferviente  y continua de su fe católica. A través de sus vastas experiencias con católicos alejados de la Iglesia y no católicos, Jesse se ha convertido en un experto en “profesar la verdad en el amor” (Efesios 4:15) y en acercar a otros a la plenitud de la verdad que solo se encuentra en la Iglesia Católica.

Jesse continúa dedicándose a enseñar, dar presentaciones, escribir, dar clases de Biblia y liderar conferencias, misiones y retiros sobre todos los asuntos relacionados con la fe católica. 

Jesse y su esposa han estado casados desde 1983 y son padres orgullosos de tres hijos, Paul, Annmarie y Joshua.


Jesse Romero holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles, CA and a master’s degree in Catholic theology from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.

After rediscovering his Catholic roots, Jesse studied and prayed his way back to a fervent on–going practice of the Catholic faith. Through his vast experiences with non–Catholics and fallen–away Catholics, Jesse has become proficient on how to “speak the truth in charity” (Ephesians 4:15) and brings others into the fullness of truth found only in the Catholic Church.

He continues to spend his time teaching, speaking, writing, giving Catholic bible studies and leading conferences, missions and retreats on all matters relating to the Catholic faith.

Jesse and his wife Anita have been married since 1983 and are the proud parents of Paul, Annmarie and Joshua.

Father Peter Vasko, OFM, entered the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land in 1981 after a 10-year career in marketing and public relations.

He served as the English definitor for the Custody of the Holy Land under four administrations for a period of thirteen years, as well as on the Franciscan Custody Board of Directors, representing the six countries in the Middle East that it governs. He also served on the finance and sanctuary pilgrimage committees.

Actively involved in the international diplomatic community in Jerusalem, Father Vasko is the liaison and guide for the White House through the U.S. Embassy, as well as with the municipality of Jerusalem. He also serves as chaplain for the Marine Security Guard for the U.S. consulate in Jerusalem.

Currently Father Vasko is the president of the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land, a position he has held for more than 25 years.

Bernard E. “Ned” Shlesinger III nació el 17 de diciembre de 1960 en Washington, D.C. Se graduó de la Escuela Secundaria Mount Vernon en Alexandria, Virginia y recibió una licenciatura en ingeniería agrícola de Virginia Tech. en 1983. Después de asistir a la universidad, fue encomendado como oficial de la Fuerza Aérea de los Estados Unidos y se convirtió en piloto. Su servicio militar consistió primordialmente en volar el Hércules C-130E desde la Base Aérea Pope en Fayetteville, North Carolina. En 1990, cuando comenzó sus estudios para el sacerdocio en la Diócesis de Raleigh, North Carolina, decidió retirarse del servicio activo.

Shlesinger sirvió como vicario parroquial en la Iglesia de St. Mary en Wilmington, y luego como párroco de la Iglesia Our Lady of Guadalupe en Newton Grove entre 1998 y 2007, mientras actuaba también como asistente del director de vocaciones entre 1999 y 2002.

Bernard E. “Ned” Shlesinger III was born December 17, 1960 in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, VA, he received a bachelor of science degree in agricultural engineering from Virginia Tech in 1983. After college, he was commissioned as an officer in the U. S. Air Force and became a pilot. His military service primarily centered on flying the C-130E Hercules from Pope Air Force Base in Fayetteville, N.C. He retired from active duty in 1990, when he began studies for the priesthood in the Diocese of Raleigh, N.C.

He studied philosophy at Theological College at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He then entered the North American College in Rome, Italy, completing a bachelor’s degree in sacred theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University. He also began studies toward the licentiate of sacred theology in spiritual theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas. He was ordained a priest on June 22, 1996 in Wilmington, N.C.

Shlesinger served as a parochial vicar at St. Mary Church in Wilmington and then as pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Newton Grove from 1998-2007, while also serving as assistant director of vocations from 1999-2002.

He became the director of vocations and seminarian formation for the Diocese of Raleigh in 2007 and served in that role until 2013. He was also the administrator of Maria, Reina de las Americas Church in Mount Olive and two other missions from 2010-2012. He became the spiritual director in the theology division of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, PA in 2013.

On May 15, 2017, His Holiness, Pope Francis, appointed him auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. He was ordained July 19, 2017.
