Find a parish

Click on the search result for more information about parishes with multiple campuses. You can also search for a parish based upon criteria including location, Mass times and languages, Adoration times and Reconciliation times.

Learn about seeking a marriage annulment

An annulment of a marriage is a decision by a church court, confirmed by an appellate court, that a putative marriage was not valid from the start because something was lacking: full knowledge and consent by both parties, freedom from force or grave fear, or some other factor needed for a valid marriage.

The Tribunal assists divorced people who petition for an investigation of their prior marriage(s). Either the marriage will be upheld as valid and binding, or it will be determined that no sacramental marriage bond existed due to certain conditions which render the marriage null. Regardless of the final decision, the tribunal investigation process is an opportunity for participants to experience healing and reconciliation with God and the faith community.

Learn more about the annulment process and how to seek an annulment by visiting the Tribunal page.

Request sacramental certificates

All requests for Sacramental Certificates (official documents attesting to a sacrament having been conferred) created since January 1, 1919, should go to the parish that holds the sacramental record book. In the case of parishes that have merged, the records reside with the receiving parish.

Learn more in the Archives & Records section.

Request genealogical information

The archives of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis house microfilm copies of baptism, marriage, and death records for most parishes in the counties of Ramsey, Hennepin, Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Goodhue, Le Sueur, Rice, Scott, Washington, and Wright. We do not, as a rule, have copies of first communion, confirmation, or burial records.

Sacramental records are not public records. However, the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis recognizes that sacramental records have value to family historians and we therefore make nearly 100 years’ worth of sacramental records available to genealogists as a service of the Archdiocese. Records created before January 1, 1919 are available for genealogy research, except in cases where particular records are restricted by canon law.
