The Apostolate of Family Life: Evangelizing within our Homes

We are called by God to love and serve those closest to us, beginning with those in our own homes. Learn how the Catholic Church’s liturgical calendar and your own dinner table can be the foundation for a deeply lived family faith and strong family culture. Warning: there will be feast day food puns.

Amanda Zurface (Spruce, Pine, Oak & Maple Rooms)

Proclaiming God’s Glory to Children in a Pornographic Culture

The earth is filled with the glory of God. God’s deeds are wondrous and are to be proclaimed to every nation and people. This includes his designs and will for man and woman. God has created us for more—more beauty, more virtue, to share more and more in God’s glory. A life that includes pornography offers less and less—less beauty, less virtue, less glory, less freedom. God desires us to truly know we are made for more and to then pass this knowledge and understanding onto our children. Here you will learn how to confidently guide your children to say no to porn and at the same time form them in a better understanding of God’s glory and designs for them to pass onto their peers.

Spiritual Direction (Cottonwood and Birch Rooms)

Have you ever wondered what spiritual direction means? Have you ever wondered how to find a spiritual director for yourself? If you have answered yes to these questions, this breakout is for you! A group from “The Road to Emmaus Spiritual Director Program” will answer these questions and more during this session. Come fin out how God may be calling you to deepen your spiritual life.

Spiritual Direction

Exploring Spiritual Direction

Each person has a unique calling, but many of us struggle to understand the design of our lives and to know ourselves in relation to God. Spiritual Direction is best described as spiritual companionship or friendship. The term spiritual direction is the original, ancient description of conversations about life in the light of the soul.

A spiritual director can help you examine the general ways God may be touching your life directly or indirectly. A spiritual director is present as a trusted and attentive friend…providing an open and safe environment to explore and nurture a more intimate relationship with God.

This session will consist of a panel of individuals who are in spiritual direction themselves and who have completed a course of study in Spiritual Direction to companion with others. There will also be time for questions by attendees.

ICSC Prayer (Spanish)

Padre Celestial,

Nos reunimos en tu nombre
para agradecerte por
los infinitos dones
que nos ofreces;
por tu Hijo,
quien nos revela
tu infinito amor y bondad;
por la presencia de nuestra Madre
María, la primera Cristiana Corresponsable
En decirte “si” con un corazón abierto.

Por los maestros, predicadores y profetas
quienes han venido hoy
a abrir nuestros corazones y a enseñarnos
como compartir nuestros dones
en un servicio amoroso.

Ayúdanos a usar el tiempo que no has dado
como un momento de gracia especial,
para que juntos podamos
obtener una mayor conciencia
del modelo que tu Hijo
nos ha mandado a seguir.

Enséñanos a vivir,
no para nosotros mismos,
sino como discípulos misioneros
corresponsables de tu iglesia,
en Jesucristo tu Hijo
que vive y reina
contigo y el Espíritu Santo
un único Dios por siempre y para siempre.
Amén
